Amusement Parks in Lüneburg and at Lüneburg Heath
Lüneburg is an ideal starting point for discovering the amusement parks in the area. Nowhere in Europe is there another region with so many amusement and theme parks as the Lüneburg Heath. Families, in particular, will practically never be at a loose end. The parks described here are among the region’s absolute top attractions and easy to reach by car.
Tip: These theme parks are absolute saviours on rainy days: some of the attractions are sheltered from the rain, keeping you dry and in high spirits!
Siberian tigers, wolverines, prairie dogs, snow leopards, arctic foxes—see all this and more at the Wildpark Lüneburger Heide (Lüneburg Heath Wildlife Park)! The 150 acres of natural Nordheide (North Heath) is home to more than 1,200 animals of 140 animal species. This lovingly designed park has group and day offers, overnight accommodation as well as games, fun and excitement for children.
Here, history comes to life! Old farmhouses and gardens give us a glimpse of rural life between 1600 and 1950. Experience a day in the life of our ancestors on the Lüneburg Heath and Winsener Marshes in more than 40 historical buildings on 30 acres of land.
What a topsy-turvy and crazy world! Experience life in a handstand—give daily life a break and enter this topsy-turvy and crazy world. At the VERRÜCKTE HAUS (Crazy House) it is not only the house that is upside down, all the furnishings too—chairs, tables, toilets, lamps, cupboards and everything else—seem to hang from the ceiling, although it’s actually the floor. In addition, the house is built at a more than six-degree angle. Even though this may not seem like much, it will most definitely put your sense of balance to the test.
Both beginners and advanced skiers couldn’t be happier with the fresh powder snow and perfect piste conditions at the Snow Dome in Bispingen. All alpine fans will come away fully satisfied.
Step on it and fly around those curves! Go for it at the Ralf Schuhmacher Kartcenter (Karting Centre) in Bispingen. Indoor and outdoor tracks, as well as children’s tracks guarantee a day of activity and lots of fun for the whole family!
Regardless of the season, bowling is just the thing for a sporting evening with friends or family. In addition to the fast-paced kart racing, Schumacher’s motordrome includes a six-lane bowling alley with a club atmosphere and good music.
Be adventurous, have fun and test your own limits at the climbing park in the forest. The heights between 3 and 15 metres will definitely be a thrill. If you would rather stay on the ground, lean back and relax on the deckchairs at the Waldbistro (forest bistro).
Bouldering has become extremely popular! Why not have a go at it on your holiday? Lüneburg’s bouldering centre is only a few minutes’ walk from the town centre, close to the railway station.
The feeling of fresh grass or fine sand under your feet is wonderful! Walking barefoot is healthy and allows you to experience nature in a completely different way. Treat your feet at the Barfußpark (Barefoot Park) in Egestorf, with its 60 stations spread over an area of 35 acres.
